Give a task a useful focus window

Choose one task, set a realistic duration, and take a deliberate break.

Define a small outcome

A useful session has a specific outcome: review two pages, prepare one image, or check a short recording. Choose a duration between 1 and 120 minutes and start the timer. Twenty-five minutes is a starting point, not a required rule. Use a shorter window for a small task and a longer one only when it suits the work.

Use pause and reset deliberately

Pause when an interruption requires your attention. Reset returns the timer to the selected duration; it does not record a completed session. The Focus and Break modes offer separate starting durations, and switching modes resets the session. A new mode or duration should be chosen before you start, rather than repeatedly moving the finish line.

Finish and review

At the end, review what you actually completed and decide whether the next step needs another session. The timer follows elapsed clock time, so changing tools inside OKMYAPP does not stop it. Closing or reloading the page ends the current session. A browser may delay screen updates in a background tab; the timer recalculates the remaining time when it updates.

Focus does not track productivity, upload session data, or promise a health or performance benefit. It is a simple local timer that you can use alongside the other tools. Take breaks according to your needs and the demands of the task.
